Red Hearts

This design was doing the rounds back in the mid 00’s, and were extremely powerful from what I can remember, the full sheet measures approximately 6" X 9", 20 X 30 hits, 600 tabs of love, the paper is soft cotton rag, appeared worldwide.

Woodstock [1980's]

Woodstock is a fictional character in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip Peanuts. He is Snoopy's closest friend and, after Snoopy, the most recognized non-human in the strip, a very rare example of this blotter classic that was in circulation throughout 1980's.

Blue Unicorns

The Blue Unicorn was a cafe on Hayes Street in San Francisco that brought the Beats to the Haight in the early 1960's and converted them to Hippies, circulated the USA in the early 80’s, but there are reports suggesting that they hung on well into the early 90’s.

Musical Notes

The Musical Notes blotter has been around for a long time and there have been quite a few different incarnations, the Musical Note blotter was said to have been one of Timothy Leary’s favourites. This example is probably an early 90’s incarnation, and came in three different colours, red, blue and , it shares similarity’s both in colour, paper and perforations to the 1992  Alien Girl - Liquid Sky blotter http://vintage-blotter-acid.blogspot.co.uk/p/lotter_2.html

The Lion Rampant & Double Eagle [Gryphon and Lion]

Another blotter that I can’t find much info on, Mark McCould has a lager example on his website: http://www.blotterbarn.com/gryphon.html he calls it the Gryphon and Lion, the full sheet contains a repeated pattern of Gryphon & Unicorn and Double headed Eagle & Loin, printed in blue on white.

Black & Silver Moons 1980's

Also known as Crescent Moon Face, Silver Moons, Silver Half-moons and the Moon the Cow Jumped Over, circulated the USA, around the mid to late 80’s, and apparently appeared worldwide by the early 90's, this blotter came in two variants, silver moons on black and silver moons on white, both were said to be very good.

The Grateful Dead Dancing Bears 1982

The Grateful Dead Dancing Bears are from 1982, originating from San Francisco, tabs are 10mm or 1cm squire, and printed in what I think is gold ink, very rare.

I normally post high resolution photos of the art, but with this blotter I have been warned to that blotter counterfeiters will use this image to make their cheap copies. This has been one of the issues with serious collectors, to many fake prints; make it hard to distinguish what is authentic and what is reproduced. This is a $500 authentic vintage piece, a counterfeiter will print and print, until the print stops selling... then down the road, you may want to sell your print and nobody will be willing to pay you a fair price, because they can buy the reproduced piece for $10.

A very nice piece of blotter art that was in circulation in Europe around 2004, unfortunately the acid on the blotter wasn't so pretty, and it had the reputation of being known as the crappy stuff.

Two soft looking microdots no more than 2mm wide, said to have been a particularly strong batch, circa 1988.

Jerry Garcia’s Art - Blotter 1998

This blotter showcases twelve of the late Jerry Garcia’s LSD inspired paintings, measures 10" inch x 7.5", comprising of 1200 hits, very thin paper, which as a strange net like pattern structure, this print was originally obtained from the Mark McCloud’s Institute of Illegal Images in S.F, and came to me via Ted Simcock, I have been told that the Jerry Art blotter had the privilege of appearing in a 90's DEA Microgram Newsletter, this is a very rare and stunning psychedelic example of vintage blotter art, there are two variants of this very rare blotter, the other was released circa 1995, this on was released circa 1998.
